Looking for the roots in the godforsaken region of
the country of Nikolaj Suhaj the bandit, which was
once the most eastern part of our country. Today
it is one of the most backward places in Europe,
where the life of its dwellers has not changed much
in the past hundred years. Their deep faith, warmth,
hospitality and the beauty of the untouched, pure
nature are in contrast with the massive poverty,
social problems, alcoholism and lack of work which
can be seen here at every step.’
